PGA TOUR commissioner Tim Finchem Tuesday announced the suspension of the regulation that resulted in Jim Furyk's disqualification last week from The Barclays for being late to his pro-am starting time. This part of the regulation will be suspended for the duration of the 2010 season.

After a handful of appearances atop my Power Rankings, it was nice to see Matt Kuchar (finally) get his at The Barclays. The law of averages bumps him from the top this week, but I'm hardly sour, as you see below.

The Champions Tour visits Pebble Beach, Calif. for the Home Care & Hospice First Tee Open at Pebble Beach. The tournament is the 19th of 26 Charles Schwab Cup events. The purse is $1.8 million with the winner earning $270,000 and 270 Charles Schwab Cup points. Last year, Jeff Sluman came from six strokes back, helped by a final-round ace at the fifth hole, to win by two strokes over Gene Jones. It marked Sluman's second-consecutive victory at this event.

Chris Kirk joined the two-win club this season on the Nationwide Tour thanks to his victory on Sunday at the Knoxville News Sentinel Open.
